Το θέαμα με τον Σι Τζινπίνγκ της Κίνας, τον Ναρέντρα Μόντι της Ινδίας και τον Βλαντιμίρ Πούτιν της Ρωσίας να κρατιούνται χέρι-χέρι, να αγκαλιάζονται και να κάνουν βόλτες κρίθηκε από κάποιους ως το σημάδι μιας μετασχηματιστικής αλλαγής στις παγκόσμιες συμμαχίες και, από άλλους, ως θέατρο. Ίσως όμως να χάνουν το νόημα. Θα έπρεπε να κρίνουμε την επίδειξη δύναμης του Σι από την ικανότητά του να έρχεται σε αντίθεση με το χάος και την αδυναμία των ανταγωνιστών του στις ΗΠΑ και την Ευρώπη.
